Core Self Reclamation Therapy is an experiential, attachment-focused model of psychotherapy that I helped crystallize and formulate with SueAnne Piliero, Ph.D. It is the foundation of my clinical work.
CSRT is built on a simple but powerful idea: developmental trauma doesn't just leave emotional pain. It leaves meanings — toxic, self-condemning conclusions that a child makes about themselves in order to survive. "I am bad." "I am unlovable." "I caused this." These meanings become the invisible architecture of a person's inner life, organizing their suffering for decades.
CSRT gives therapists a precise, stepwise method for reaching those meanings and transforming them — using parts work, the neuroscience of memory reconsolidation, and a relational stance we call Fierce Love.
I use CSRT in my individual therapy practice. I also teach CSRT alongside Dr. Piliero through professional training courses for licensed clinicians.
